Young Turk was a pop-rock band from Los Angeles that formed in the early 2000s. The group included Matthew Koma on vocals and guitar, Ryan Delahoussaye on bass, Casey McPherson on drums, and John Pierce on guitar. Their debut single "All Night" came out in 2006 and did well on some international charts, helping them reach a wider audience.
They released their self-titled debut album in 2007, followed by "Forever Young" in 2009 and "The Other Side" in 2012. Over those years, their sound shifted a bit, picking up some electronic and alternative rock touches alongside their pop-rock foundation. Other songs from that period include "Amped Up," "Project," and "One Saturday Night."
In 2014, Young Turk went on hiatus, with the members working on their own projects. They got back together for a reunion tour in 2019, which drew decent crowds. Around 2010, there were some plagiarism claims about a song called "Don't Stop," but the band denied them.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
