YoungCherry formed in Madrid in 2015, starting as an acoustic duo with singer-songwriter Helena Ros and guitarist Alejandro Sánches. They later added drummer Miguel Ángel García and bassist Javier Pérez. The band released an early EP called "Invierno en Madrid" and followed it with the album "El Miedo."
In 2020, their single "Decepción" gained attention, appearing on Spotify's Global Viral 50 chart. The song's minimalist arrangement and Ros's vocals gave it a raw, emotional quality that connected with listeners.
YoungCherry faced some criticism in 2017 over a plagiarism allegation involving another Spanish artist's melody, though the matter eventually faded. Their music often explores themes of loss and anxiety, with "Decepción" becoming their most recognized work.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
