Archive material and source history
Youngzilla came together in São Paulo in the late 2000s, a group of friends who started making hip-hop together. Bruno Maia (MC Bocka), Igor Rodrigues (MC Igu), and Marcos Pereira (MC Maru) were among those early members, playing underground shows and building a local following before anything broke wider.
Their song "Só Mais Um Gole" came out in 2013 and changed things. It connected with a lot of listeners in Brazil, moving the group from the underground toward more mainstream attention. The track gave its name to their debut album the following year.
Youngzilla's music often mixed hip-hop with funk and electronic touches. They kept recording after that first album, putting out projects like "Minha Vida É Um Filme" and "Três Cabeças." The group's lineup included MCs Bocka, Igu, and Maru on vocals, with DJ Will and DJ Cia on turntables.
