Your Sweet Uncertainty formed in London around 2010 with Emma Carpenter on vocals, James Black on guitar, Tom Willis on bass, and Jack Daniels on drums. Their debut album 'A Sea of Memories' came out in 2013, featuring the song 'Carry On' which became one of their better-known tracks.
After Daniels left in 2015, Ben Johnson joined as drummer the following year. The band has released several albums since then, including 'Echoes from the Past' in 2016, 'From the Ashes' in 2020, and 'The Weight of the World' in 2023. Other songs like 'Highschool Jazz Band Part II' and 'Thoughts Of Time' appear in their catalog.
They've maintained a steady presence without dramatic career shifts, continuing to write and record music that blends indie rock with folk elements. Carpenter's vocals and Black's guitar work remain central to their sound across these releases.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
