Youth Alive WA formed in Perth in 1994 as a Christian rock band. The original lineup included teenagers Jonathon Lee on vocals, Chris Miller on guitar, Michael Thomas on bass, and Adam Whitfield on drums. They built a following with their live shows and released their debut album 'The Edge of Time' in 2000.
That album's lead single 'All I Am' became their most recognizable song. Its message connected with listeners beyond just Christian audiences. Other songs in their catalog include 'Take over,' 'All Day,' and 'Fall at your feet.'
Drummer Adam Whitfield left the group in 2006 and was replaced by Tom Thum. The band released several more albums including 'Epiphany' in 2002, 'In the Shadow of Your Wings' in 2004, 'Our Time Has Come' in 2006, and 'The End of the Beginning' in 2008.
