Youth in Revolt formed in 1998 around Ethan Nightshade on vocals and guitar, Jake Skulls on bass, and Danny Stardust on drums. Their debut album was called 'For the First Time,' which is also the title of one of their songs. The band's early lineup went through some changes, but those three remained at the center of things for a while.
Their music connected with listeners who felt like outsiders, with songs about rebellion and figuring things out. Tracks like 'There For You' and 'Alright' became part of that conversation. The group kept putting out records after that first one, including albums titled 'The Great Escape' and 'Face the Music.'
They worked with other bands occasionally, like on the track 'Where You Belong' with Ice Nine Kills and Chasing Safety. Other songs in their catalog include 'Brisbane,' 'Don't Wait For Me,' 'I'm Not Scared,' and 'Love Is a Liar's Game.'
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
