Youthful Praise

Youthful Praise formed in the mid-1990s as a group of young musicians focused on gospel music. Their 1998 album "None But Jesus" gave them their signature song, which became a staple in their repertoire alongside tracks like "Beautiful Sound" and "Lord You're Mighty." The band has seen several lineup changes over time, with current members including lead vocalist Sarah Williams, keyboardist Mark Johnson, guitarist Daniel Smith, and drummer James Carter.

Their music blends traditional gospel with contemporary pop and R&B elements, creating songs built around soaring melodies and straightforward worship lyrics. Albums like "Greater Than I" from 2001 and "Unshakable" from 2005 continued this approach, with songs such as "Powerful God" and "Fairest Lord Jesus" reflecting their consistent musical direction.

While some critics questioned their style as too contemporary for traditional worship settings, the band maintained their approach through subsequent releases like "Everlasting" in 2009 and "The Greatest Name" in 2013. They've continued performing live, with songs like "Get To The Point" and "Praise To The Rock" remaining part of their setlists.
