YOWLER formed in Nashville around 2013, with Maryn Jones on vocals, Matthew Asbell on guitar, and Elliot Bergman on bass. Their debut album 'The Offer' came out in 2017, followed by 'Apparitions' in 2019 and 'Suffer On' in 2021. Drummer Jesse Crawley joined the lineup at some point.
Songs like 'In The Bathroom' and '7 Towers' show the band's range, moving between quieter moments and more intense passages. Jones's vocal delivery can shift from restrained to forceful, often within the same track.
In 2018, the group faced plagiarism accusations after releasing a song that sounded similar to another artist's work. Jones's stage presence and performance style have also drawn mixed reactions over time.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
