Yrndj formed in Los Angeles in the early 1990s, with Emily Rose on vocals, Ethan James on guitar, Dave Martin on bass, and James Sinclair on drums. They self-released their debut album 'Nocturnal' in 1995 after struggling to find a label interested in their sound. The single 'Pop Out' from that album gained attention and helped build their following.
Over the next decade, they put out several albums including 'Echoes of the Abyss' in 1998, 'The Shadows We Cast' in 2001, and 'The Silent Hour' in 2004. In 2008, guitarist Ethan James died from a drug overdose, after which Rose took over lead guitar duties.
They continued recording with albums like 'The Edge of Redemption' in 2012 and 'Ashes to Ashes' in 2018, working at a slower pace than in their earlier years.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
