A London band that made fuzzy indie rock feel like a 2011 basement show.
If you only hear one thing, make it 'Sunday'. That song still sounds like a perfect, hazy afternoon. 'Get Away' from the first record holds up too, all fuzz and forward motion.
When Yuck's self-titled debut landed in 2011, it felt like a transmission from a different era of guitar music. Songs like 'Sunday' and 'Get Away' had that specific, scuffed-up energy that connected immediately, not polished, just loud and a little sad. They were one of those bands that made you remember why you liked messy rock in the first place.
They started as a four-piece in London around 2010, with Daniel Blumberg on vocals. After their 2011 debut and 2013's 'Glow & Behold', Blumberg left in 2014, and they carried on as a trio for one more album before quietly stopping around 2017.
