Yugoslavos formed in Zadar in 1984, started by brothers Mladen and Dragan Vujić. The early lineup included Zoran Redžić on bass and Davor Rodik on drums. They put out albums like 'Mladost' in 1985 and 'Pozdrav Iz Zagreba' in 1987, working with a mix of Balkan melodies and rock.
By the late 1980s, political changes in Yugoslavia made things difficult for the band. They moved to London in 1991 and kept recording. One of their releases was the 1988 album 'Goran Bregović's Music for the Film Time of the Gypsies,' which featured the composer Goran Bregović. Some of their songs, like 'Falling To Falls To' and 'Life Is Simple,' carried a direct, sometimes confrontational tone that drew criticism alongside attention.
They stopped working together in 1996. Their catalog includes later albums such as 'Kao Kad Noć Umire' from 1990 and 'Da Li To Narodi Znaju' from 1991.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
