Yuiko formed in 2007 when vocalist Yuiko Hara began working with guitarist Wataru Utsumi and bassist Shinji Nishimoto. They released their debut single 'Reason' in 2008, which helped establish them in Japan's pop scene. The band put out their first international album '1000 no Ichiya' in 2011.
In 2013, their song 'Jumping!!' became widely popular, known for its energetic beat and catchy lyrics. They've also released tracks like 'In The Garden' and albums including 'GIRL meets BOX' in 2016 and 'Y' in 2019. In 2016, Yuiko Hara faced plagiarism accusations regarding the song 'Amagoi,' though the band continued making music afterward.
