In 2004, Okamura was diagnosed with Graves' disease, which affected her vocal cords and led to a break from performing. She has released albums including 'Monochrome' in 2002, 'Aoi Kiseki' in 2004, 'Genesis' in 2013, and 'Tsuki to Taiyou' in 2018.
She has worked with other artists like Ryuichi Sakamoto, m-flo, and Ken Hirai. Okamura writes alone, drawing from personal experiences, and performs as a solo artist with occasional collaborators.
