Yung Bryan is a Haitian singer-songwriter from Port-au-Prince. His father was a guitarist and his mother sang in a local choir, which gave him an early connection to music. In 2015, he released the single "Pente Caracol," which became his breakthrough track.
That song and others like "Drink Azul" mix Afrobeat, hip-hop, and konpa rhythms. He leads a group called the Yung Fam, which includes guitarist Romy Jean, bassist Stephano Saint-Fleur, and drummer Chris Beaudouin. They've put out albums such as "Pente Caracol" in 2016, "Moun Mache" in 2018, and "Renmen" in 2021.
Some of his lyrics have drawn criticism in Haiti for touching on social issues. In 2019, he was arrested on charges related to a performance, though those charges were later dropped. He's worked with artists like Izolan, BIC, and Wyclef Jean.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
