Yung Gravy

Yung Gravy is Matthew Hauri from Rochester, Minnesota. He started putting out music in 2016 with a mixtape called 'Thanksgiving's Eve.' His breakout came a year later with 'Mr. Clean,' a track that caught on for its relaxed flow and a sense of humor that didn't take itself too seriously.

His 2019 single 'Betty (Get Money)' went viral, partly thanks to a music video that leaned into a specific, playful aesthetic. That track, along with songs like 'Oops!' and 'Whip a Tesla,' helped define his lane: catchy, meme-friendly rap built on samples and a laid-back delivery. He's kept that going on later projects like 'Gasanova' and 'Baby Gravy 2.'

He works with a loose crew that includes Nick Graff on drums and Carter Schultz on bass. The music often features collaborators, from Lil Wayne on a remix of 'Oops!!!' to Lil Baby on 'Alley Oop.' The tone is consistently light, even when the lyrics draw some criticism for being cheeky or exaggerated. He's described the work as satire, a defense that fits the overall package.
