Archive material and source history
Yuppie Flu was an American indie rock band that formed in 1996. They released five albums between 1997 and 2008, starting with 'This City Is Killing Me' and ending with 'The Color Is Red.' Their lineup included Brian Peterman on lead vocals and guitar, Christopher David on guitar and vocals, Matt Bachand on bass and vocals, and Kevin White on drums.
Their most recognizable song is '1967,' which appeared on their 1999 album of the same name. The track's nostalgic feel connected with listeners, though some critics at the time found the band's overall sound and introspective lyrics too somber. Other songs in their catalog include 'A Good Guide,' 'Better Than Ever,' and 'Boat Or Swim.'
They were signed to Atlantic Records for a period, but the label reportedly had difficulty promoting their music. The band broke up in 2008.
