Background notes

Archive material and source history

Yuppie Pricks formed in London in 1981 with Duncan Redmonds on vocals and guitar, Paul Halford on guitar and vocals, Jimmi Mack on bass, and Richard Bruton on drums. They worked outside the mainstream punk scene, which made it harder for them to get noticed.

Their debut album 'Black Tuesday' came out in 1982. They followed it with 'Victories' in 1984 and 'The System' in 1985.

The band broke up in 1987. Those four members stayed together for the whole run, and their sound had Redmonds' snarling vocals and Halford's searing guitar solos as its main features.
