Yuri N.e.d formed in São Paulo around 2012 when vocalist Yuri N.e.d met producer Bruno Mandioca. They started playing small shows at clubs while working on their sound, which pulls from Brazilian funk and electronic music. Their 2017 single "Esse Lance Vai Fluir" became a breakout hit in Brazil, helping them reach a wider audience.
In 2019 they released their debut album "No Calor do Caldeirão," which showed them experimenting with R&B and hip-hop elements. Other songs like "Princesa de Bombeta" and "Nossos Planos" have kept their profile up in the Brazilian scene. The band includes Yuri N.e.d on vocals, Bruno Mandioca on production and instruments, Gui Orlandi on drums, and Vitor de Paula on bass.
They've worked with artists like Linn da Quebrada and Criolo, and put out an EP called "Fusão" in 2020. A live album from Circo Voador followed in 2021. Their music has drawn some criticism about cultural appropriation, but they've kept making records that mix funk rhythms with contemporary production.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
