In 1997, he composed the soundtrack for the arcade game Subarashiki Shin Sekai - Nanco X Capcom, including the theme song of the same name.
He formed the techno band Mint with composer Motohiro Kawashima and worked with companies like Sega and Falcom. Around 2000, he faced legal issues over copyrighted material in his Shenmue soundtrack, which required reworking the score.
Beyond game soundtracks, Koshiro has released albums including Live in Barcelona in 1998 and The Reunion in 2010. He has collaborated with musicians like vocalist Ayako Saso and composer Michiru Yamane.
