Yuzuguren formed in Osaka around 2018, originally called Yuzureno. They worked through some early lineup shifts, including the temporary absence of vocalist Hina, before connecting with producer Shinsuke Nishihara. Guitarist Tomohiro Kitajima and bassist Shogo Nagashima joined around that time, with Nana Higa on lead vocals.
Their debut single "Two Yuu" came out in 2020 and stirred up some discussion in Japan over its lyrics. The band kept releasing music after that, putting out songs like "Ano Ko to Yuuhi" and "Kimi ga Inai," along with albums titled "Amagateru" and "Yƫgure."
