Yuzuki Kaoru formed around 2000 when vocalist Kaoru Yoshida started working with drummer Tomohiko Nakamura. Guitarist Yohei Asakai joined in 2005, followed by bassist Hiroyoshi Yamaguchi in 2006, and that lineup became the band's core. They've released albums including Mirai in 2004, Aoi in 2006, Sora in 2008, and more recent work like Tsubasa in 2020.
Their song "Omoi - You Were In The Wind of Summer -" came out in 2012 and became their most recognizable track. It's been used in commercials and television dramas, which helped it reach a wider audience beyond their existing listeners.
Around 2009, some critics questioned whether the band's sound was too similar to other popular groups at the time.
