Archive material and source history
Yves Luz is a band from Rio de Janeiro that started playing in local bars and clubs around the mid-2000s. They put out their first album, 'Sentimentos,' themselves in 2008 after having trouble getting a record deal. The group originally had Yves Luz on vocals and guitar, Gustavo Carvalho on guitar, Daniel Serbeto on bass, and Luis Felipe on drums.
Their second album came out in 2013, and the title track 'Ironias do Amor' got a lot of radio play. The song is a ballad about unrequited love. After that, they kept making albums like 'Instinto' in 2015, 'O Amor É Maior' in 2017, and 'Nação do Amor' in 2020. At some point, André Tande joined on keyboards.
Their music mixes pop, rock, and samba. Yves Luz writes most of the lyrics, which tend to be about love and relationships.
