Z-Man is the project of Zackary "Z" Manatt, who started writing songs in the early 2000s. The band's first single, "Buckle Up," came out in 2005 and got some attention. They've worked with producer Rick Rubin.
Their songs like "Come Gurp With Me" and "Z-Mutiny" have a rock sound with some folk and blues mixed in. The lineup includes guitarist Jake Thompson, bassist Nick Brown, and drummer Matt Smith alongside Manatt.
They've put out albums including a self-titled debut and one called "The Silent Cry." The music tends to be direct and sometimes deals with social themes.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
