Zaab & State of Soul formed in the Netherlands around 2012, led by singer Zahira Ould-Bouali. The group included guitarist Bart van Dongen, bassist Erik van der Luijt, drummer Michael Prins, and keyboardist Michiel Jansen. Their first single, 'When I Hold You,' came out in 2013 and got some radio play.
They released a self-titled debut album in 2014. The drummer changed in 2016, with Leon Sibum replacing Michael Prins. They put out a few more records after that, including 'Solid' in 2016 and 'Too Good to Be True' in 2019.
