Archive material and source history
Zaborger was a Japanese rock band that formed in 1977. They're best known for creating the theme song 'Ore No Kyoudai Denjin Zaborger' for the anime series of the same name, which came out in the late 1970s. The band had four members: vocalist Masato Yashiki, guitarist Takao Ikeda, bassist Kiyoshi Koizumi, and drummer Toshiyuki Takemura.
Their debut album, also called 'Ore No Kyoudai Denjin Zaborger,' was released in 1978. That album included their most recognizable song along with other tracks like 'Tatakae! Denjin Zaborger.' They put out a couple more albums in the following years, 'Zaborger II' in 1979 and 'Zaborger III' in 1980.
While they were active through the 1980s, their popularity didn't maintain the same level it had during their initial breakthrough. Their music combined rock with anime themes, which was less common at the time, and that connection to anime culture is what most people remember about them.
