Zach Chance was born Zachary Chance Campbell in 1963. He grew up in a small town with a father who played guitar and was a preacher, which gave him an early connection to blues music. He started playing in local blues clubs as a young man.
His debut album 'Whispers of the Blues' came out in 1992. The 1995 album 'Black & Blue' included the title track that became his most recognized song. He also recorded 'Bring Your Love' and other material that blended blues with rock elements.
Chance faced some legal issues in the late 1990s related to substance abuse allegations.
He released albums periodically including 'The Long Road Home' in 2000 and 'Redemption' in 2007. Zach Chance died in 2020.
