Is Anybody Listening

Oh father pray with me for the sons we'll never know

For memories buried where, flowers never grow

Oh mother mourn with me, all the princesses are gone

The prince has fallen from his steed

Now nothing's white as snow

Is anybody listening? Does anybody care?

We're just living shadows of the dreams that die

When we sacrifice our innocence

So intercede for me if you can make the darkness small

Or pass by me on the street and don't do anything at all

This world has been unkind and it took more than it gave

But we are part of the design in this old world we choose make

Is anybody listening? Does anybody care?

Please somebody shake yourself awake and see

This is not the world (we hoped we'd build)

Is everybody satisfied? Is everyone content?

When we're just living shadows of the dreams that die

When we crucify (sacrifice) our innocence

What have we done? How far can we fall?

Who wants a world where nothing's sacred anymore?
