Archive material and source history
Zach Said is an indie-folk band from Seattle that started in the late 2000s. Their debut EP 'Holding On' came out in 2010, with the title track becoming a fan favorite. The band's sound at that point leaned on acoustic guitars and raw vocals.
They followed up with the album 'The Way Home' in 2012, which included songs like 'Gone' and 'The Distance.' Around 2015, they had a public dispute with their record label over creative control and royalties, which led to legal proceedings.
After a hiatus and some lineup changes, Zach Said returned in 2017 with 'Ashes and Dust,' an album that moved toward a more experimental, electronic direction. They put out another album called 'The Weight of the World' in 2021.
