Well we had our day in the sun

Living large without fear of what we'd become

Though the time that we shared is young

We littered the road with that we'd begun

I've been down in the mire

With head full of fire

Since I snapped from the leash that led me around

I've been finding ways to be free of what holds me to the ground

Yet there is a stillness in my heart that won't sound

A bell without a ringer

A gun without a round

I've been down there in the mire
