Zackarias Nepomuceno came from Tubarão, Santa Catarina, and started playing in local bars and festivals. His music drew from MPB, Brazilian Popular Music, and he worked with musicians like bassist Arthur Maia, percussionist Marcos Suzano, and keyboardist Ricardo Cantú.
In 1988, he released his debut album 'Eu', which included the song of the same name. That track drew some attention for how it portrayed urban life and poverty. He kept recording through the 1990s and 2000s, putting out albums like 'Retratos' in 1992, 'O Voo do Urubu' in 1997, and 'Novas Flores' in 2004.
Nepomuceno died in 2020. He was 62.
