Zadera formed in 2007 in Rinteln, Germany, with Hendrik Budde on vocals and guitar, Sven Gatz on bass, and Gregor Adamski on drums. They put out their first album in 2009, followed by 'Du hast verloren' in 2010. That song's lyrics drew some criticism at the time, which Budde addressed by saying they were open to interpretation.
Their music leans into rock with strong vocals and melodies, often circling themes of loss or reflection. Tracks like 'Fallen' and 'Venom' from their catalog fit that mood. They released two more albums, 'Tief' in 2012 and 'Mensch' in 2015.
Jonas Schmieding took over on drums in 2014. The band has kept a steady presence in German rock since then, playing shows noted for their direct energy.
