Zagotinho do Acordeon is a Brazilian forró musician from Serra do Mel. His debut album 'Minha Rolinha' came out in 2005, with the title track becoming a hit. The song 'Vida no Sertão' also appears among his popular recordings.
He plays accordion and sings, backed by a band that includes Isaías on bass, Davi on drums, and Fábio on guitar. Their music draws from traditional forró rhythms, with songs like 'Caia na Folia' and 'Forró Bodó' fitting squarely in that danceable style.
In 2012, Zagotinho faced plagiarism allegations regarding 'Minha Rolinha,' though the charges were eventually dismissed. His lyrics sometimes address social themes alongside more personal subjects, as heard in tracks like 'Dona do Meu Viver' and 'Mão de Vaca.'
Later albums include 'O Rei do Forró' from 2007 and 'Coração de Cigano' from 2014. The group has performed live shows across Brazil, with a 2010 live album documenting that aspect of their work.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
