Zaiky formed in Santiago, Chile in the late 1990s as a trio with Franco Pedrotti on vocals and guitar, Miguel "Tyson" Betancourt on bass, and Felipe "Kamba" Orellana on drums. Their self-titled debut album came out in 1999 and included the song "Si Me Voy," which became one of their most recognizable tracks.
They followed that with albums like "Mucho Más Que Amor" in 2001 and "Sin Mirar Atrás" in 2004. The lineup shifted around 2005 when Orellana left and Rodrigo "Rigo" Carmona joined on drums. Later on, guitarists Nico Ortúzar and Andrés "el Bolo" Galdames also played with the band.
Zaiky built a following in Chile with straightforward pop-punk energy and live shows that connected with local audiences. While their sound evolved over different records, songs like "Si Me Voy" kept a place in their setlists and in Chilean rock playlists for years afterward.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
