Zainal Abidin is an Indonesian singer from Pontianak. His 1993 song "Ceritera" became a major hit, with its melody and lyrics connecting widely. He recorded several albums in the 1990s, including 'Ceritera' in 1994 and 'Keajaiban' in 1996.
He performed with a band called Zainal Abidin & The Voice, which included guitarist Toni Q Rastafara. Other songs like "Hijau" and "Ikhlas Tapi Jauh" also became well-known. His career was interrupted in 2000 when he was arrested for drug possession.
After serving his sentence, he returned to performing and recording. He has continued to work in music, sometimes mentoring younger artists.
