Zally formed in São Paulo around 2012, with Nando Moura on vocals, Gabriel Elias on bass, Pedro Alter on guitar, and Rodrigo da Silva on drums. They put out three albums between 2014 and 2018, simply titled "Zally," "Zally II," and "Zally III."
Their music mixed rap, funk, and rock with lyrics that were often direct and confrontational. The track "Diss Pro Abelha Eu Te Censurei" drew legal threats after it targeted a popular singer, which seemed to fit what they were going for. Another song, "Preocupado," featured Beto Boy.
They built a following with this approach, though it also brought them criticism and censorship issues. The band kept at it through the 2010s, making music that was blunt and sometimes vulgar, aimed at politicians, celebrities, and other musicians.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
