Zambonie formed in Vancouver in the early 2000s around vocalist-guitarist Vanessa May and bassist Kevin Kane. They were later joined by drummer David Christiansen, and that trio became the band's consistent core. Their music often dealt with difficult themes, which sometimes drew polarized reactions from listeners and critics.
Their 2005 album 'Unspeakable Things' was followed by 'Shadow of the Highway' in 2009 and 'This Is Not a Dream' in 2013. The song 'Meadows & Straight Jackets' became particularly well-known, alongside other tracks like 'Message' and 'The Sun Never Came.' Their music has appeared in some films and television shows.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
