ZAMIGAS formed in Rio de Janeiro around the duo of Carla Zambelli and Larissa Marques, later joined by Diogo Melim, Júlia Nunes, and Léo Iório. Their debut album 'Se Eu Quiser' came out in 2018, followed by '#Zamigas' in 2020 and a live album recorded at Copacabana Beach in 2022.
Their song 'Se Eu Quiser' became widely popular in Brazil. In 2019, a video surfaced showing Carla Zambelli making derogatory remarks about the LGBTQ+ community, which led to canceled concerts and a public apology from the band.
They won the Prêmio Multishow de Música Brasileira for Best New Artist.
