Zanaisalma formed in Salvador, Bahia, with Zara Belém on vocals, Kaio Oliveira on guitar, Beto Corrales on bass, and Rafael Rabello on drums. Their first album came out in 2017, followed by a second in 2019 and a live recording from Salvador in 2021.
Their song "Tem Mosquito" became a national hit in 2018, with its playful lyrics about everyday life. Other tracks like "A Semana Inteira," "Heloisa," and "O Mundo Esta Morrendo" show their range from personal reflection to broader themes.
They worked with Brazilian rhythms alongside folk and rock elements, creating music that felt both grounded and expansive. Belém's vocals and Oliveira's guitar lines gave their sound its particular texture.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
