Zandra formed in the late 1990s, with Sarah McLachlan on lead vocals and guitar. Their debut album came out in 1999 and included the song "Breathe," which became their most recognizable track. Other songs from their catalog include "Can't Stop Lovin' You" and "Let Me Be Who I am."
After their first album, Zandra released three more records: Closer Than You Think in 2002, The Sound of Your Voice in 2007, and Wrapped in Red in 2013. The band's lineup included Pierre Marchand on guitar and bass, Ashwin Sood on drums, and David Kershaw on keyboards and production.
When their debut came out, Zandra faced some accusations of plagiarism regarding "Breathe," which the band denied. McLachlan has been open about dealing with depression and anxiety, themes that sometimes surfaced in her lyrics.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
