Zanoni was a Brazilian band from Rio de Janeiro that mixed samba with rock and reggae. They had four members: Ivo Meirelles sang, Luiz Carlos played guitar, Paulinho was on drums, and Marcelo Yuka handled bass. Their music often dealt with social issues like poverty and inequality, which sometimes drew criticism.
In 1984 they put out an album called "Seria Injusto Não Falar de Você," which included the title track that became their best-known song. That track, "Seria Injusto Não Falar de Você," was a ballad about recognizing people who are usually overlooked.
They worked with other musicians including Gilberto Gil and Caetano Veloso. Their live shows drew large crowds and became spaces for community discussion.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
