Zanotto formed in 1995 when brothers Mariano and Bruno Zanotto teamed up with guitarist Pablo Guisasola. They're an Argentine heavy metal band that built their following through steady live performances in those early years, working through the typical financial struggles many independent bands face.
Their 2009 single "Año 64 Dc" became something of an anthem for them, with its politically charged lyrics connecting with listeners in Argentina. The song appears on their 2009 album of the same name, which followed earlier releases like "Delirios del Odio" (2003) and "Memoria del Naufragio" (2006). Other tracks like "Clara" and "La Revolución" show their continued engagement with social themes.
The current lineup includes Mariano Zanotto on vocals, Bruno Zanotto on drums, Pablo Guisasola on guitar, Emiliano "Mono" Imperiali on bass, and Juanjo Villafañe on guitar. They released "La Rebelión de los Muertos" in 2015, maintaining their heavy sound and lyrical focus on social issues.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
