Zantorriff formed in São Paulo in 2005 with Lucas Lee on vocals, Daniel Gomes and Rafael Furtado on guitars, Marcelo Tavares on bass, and Thiago Duarte on drums. They put out their first album, 'Tempestade de Fogo,' in 2008, followed by 'Veneno Puro' in 2015. The track 'Tô No Rato' from that second album became their most recognized song.
Their music video for 'Tô No Rato' drew some criticism for its depiction of poverty and violence, which the band defended as reflecting real conditions in Brazil. Beyond that track, their catalog includes songs like 'Casas de Espetáculo,' 'Charque to Shark,' and 'O Africano e o Patuá.'
They've released a couple of albums and some EPs, working in a thrash metal style with hardcore elements. The lineup from their formation appears to have been stable through those recordings.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
