Zarashi formed in São Paulo in 2003 with Bruno Santana on vocals, Jaime tecedeira on guitar, Flavio Pimenta on bass, and Renan Carvalho on drums. Their first album, 'Faça o Que For', came out the following year. They've kept a steady pace of releases since then, with albums like 'Falsa Promessa' in 2006 and 'A Luta Continua' in 2020.
The band has denied accusations of violence and intolerance that have been leveled against them.
They're considered a significant part of the Brazilian hardcore scene, with a sound that resonated particularly with younger listeners in their hometown. The lineup has remained consistent since their formation.
