ZARCA formed in Seville in the late 1990s, led by singer-songwriter Manolo Garrote. Their sound mixed flamenco rhythms with rock and electronic elements, which some critics initially dismissed as straying too far from traditional Andalusian music. They released their debut album "Menta" in 2000, which included the song "Con Sabor a Menta."

The band followed up with albums like "Zarca" in 2002 and "Aire" in 2004. Other songs in their catalog include "Hip-Rap," "Ilusa Ilusión," and "Suelo Soñar."

Alongside Garrote on vocals and guitar, ZARCA's core members included Manuel Postigo on guitar, Antonio Escobar on bass, Pedro Durán on drums, and Jose Luis Moro on keyboards. They released a live album, "En Vivo," in 2006.
