Zaria formed in Ljubljana in 2007 around vocalist Helena Blagne and guitarist Miha Koren. Their debut album, 'Pozabljeni svet,' came out in 2010. The title track became a notable song for them.
Miha Koren left the band in 2013, replaced by guitarist Andrej Zavašnik. The core trio of Blagne, Zavašnik, and drummer Matej Sušnik became the steady lineup, working with various other musicians on different projects.
Their music sometimes drew criticism for lyrics that challenged conventions, but they kept making it. Their songs have appeared in some Slovenian films and television shows.
