Zarro was an electro-pop band that formed in the early 1980s. Their sound had a haunting quality, built around ethereal vocals and atmospheric synth lines. The track 'Chill Dreams' from 1983 became their most recognizable song, with its hypnotic melody and evocative lyrics getting airplay on music channels at the time.
The band released four studio albums between 1982 and 1988, starting with their self-titled debut and ending with 'Ashes to Dust.' Their lineup included Micah Ressler on vocals, Ethan Hayes on keyboards, Mark Bishop on drums, and Cassandra Shaw on bass. Other songs in their catalog include 'Mount Rushmore,' 'Italy,' and 'RIP.'
Zarro faced some public controversies during their run, including accusations of plagiarism and internal strife that led to member departures. They disbanded in 1990, a couple years after their final album came out.
