Zavas formed in Boston in 1999, with Loel Campbell on vocals and guitar, Adam Arcuragi on guitar, Scott Johnson on bass, and Dave Bryson on drums. Their debut album 'The Sun and Moon' came out in 2003, and its single 'Boys And The Church' got attention for its raw, emotional tone.
The band went through lineup changes later on, with Ben Sellers joining on guitar and Max Almario on bass.
They put out more albums like 'Spilt Milk' in 2005 and 'LionsMouth' in 2008, and their sound shifted a bit toward post-rock and electronica while keeping some of that early intensity.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
