Zé Barth was a Brazilian band formed in 1983 around singer-songwriter Zé Barth Alvarenga. The group had a shifting lineup that included musicians like guitarist Kiko Dinucci and drummer Marcelo Costa. They released several albums through the 1980s and early 1990s, including their self-titled debut in 1983, 'Fome de Vida' in 1985, and 'Mundo Livre' in 1990.
Their 1987 album 'A Idade do Bicho Homem' featured the title track that became their most recognized work. The band's catalog includes songs like 'Desafio 30 de Fevereiro,' 'Eu Quero Pinga Com Açafrão,' and 'Mãezinha do Meu Coração' that show their range from experimental rock to more straightforward material.
Zé Barth disbanded in the mid-1990s. Alvarenga continued working as a solo artist afterward, while other members pursued their own musical projects.
