Zé Brown

Zé Brown is a Brazilian music collective that formed in Salvador, Bahia in the late 1990s. Their sound mixes rock, funk, and reggae, with Zé Brown himself handling lead vocals and rhythm guitar. In 2001, they released their debut album 'Próximo Personagem,' which included the title track that became a hit. The band's lineup has included bassist Jurandir Santana, drummer Marcelo D2, and keyboardist Luciano Magno.

Their lyrics often addressed social issues and political corruption, which sometimes drew criticism. They also faced accusations of drug use and criminal associations, which they denied. Despite these challenges, they continued performing and recording, with later albums including 'A Hora da Verdade' in 2003, 'Elo' in 2005, and 'Deixa o Mundo Girar' in 2010.
