Zé Caetano

Zé Caetano formed in Brazil in the late 1990s, with vocalist Zé and guitarist Caetano at the center. Their music mixed rock with samba and Brazilian folk elements, creating a sound that felt both familiar and slightly off-center. They released their first album, 'Semente do Silêncio,' in 1998, followed by others like 'O Último Tango' in 2002 and 'Canções de Amor e Solidão' in 2009.

Their song 'Eu Te Amo Você' became their most recognizable track, though its ambiguous lyrics led to various interpretations. The band's approach sometimes drew criticism for being too cryptic or inaccessible, and they generally kept a low profile with the media. Alongside Zé and Caetano, the lineup included bassist Beto and drummer Marcos.

Songs like 'Numa Noite de Verão,' 'A Noite Perfeita,' and 'Amor Pra Mim' show their range from breezy summer tunes to more introspective love songs. They never aimed for mainstream pop clarity, preferring instead to let their music carry a certain unresolved quality.
